Getting started
Initial settings (Step 1)
Assign your Privacy Officer, capture their e-signature, and save your organization information. Everything else unlocks after this.
Three things happen on this screen:
- Assigning a Privacy Officer (required)
- Capturing their e-signature (recommended)
- Saving your organization's information (required)
Assigning a Privacy Officer
Because assigning a Privacy Officer is so important, the portal locks you out of everything else until it's done. Until then, your dashboard shows an amber banner: "Step 1 Required: Please assign a Privacy Officer and Organization Name in Settings before proceeding." Every sidebar item except Dashboard and Settings is greyed out.

Click the Step 1 card, Assign Privacy Officer (marked Pending), on your dashboard. You can also click Settings in the sidebar, or, if you're signed in, click here to land in the same spot.
Once in Settings, the top card is Privacy Officer Assignment.

Now we're talking! This is the juicy stuff.
Enter your Privacy Officer's details
Fill in Privacy Officer Name, Email Address, and (optionally) Phone Number.

Save
Click the blue Save Privacy Officer button.
Look for the green badge
You'll see "Privacy Officer saved successfully!" and a green Assigned badge next to the card title.

And done! Set, saved, assigned, allocated. Your Privacy Officer has been named.
Capturing their e-signature
The Compliance Officer E-Signature card saves your Privacy Officer's electronic John Hancock. The portal applies it to your policies and Business Associate Agreements automatically.
The best part: you can execute Business Associate Agreements entirely inside the portal. No middleman, no postage, no trees harmed. You sign electronically, your vendor signs electronically on their end without being sent anywhere confusing, and the signed agreement is saved in the portal for safekeeping. Easy-peasy!

Sign with your mouse or finger. The signature saves as soon as you lift your pen, so draw it in one continuous stroke. If it gets cut off, click Re-draw Signature and try again, or switch to Type.

Type your name, pick a style (Elegant, Classic, or Modern), and click Save Signature.
You'll see "Signature saved successfully!" To change it later, click Re-draw Signature.
Organization information

This is the last required piece on this screen. It's where you save your organization's name, type, and logo.
Organization Name
If you use a d/b/a or go by slightly different names here and there, I always tell clients to use the name they use on their corporate taxes. When the portal pulls your organization name into a document (your policies and BAAs), it uses this exact name.
Organization Type
Choose Covered Entity, Business Associate, or Hybrid Entity. Not sure which you are? The Support Center explains the difference, or book a call and we'll talk it through.
Logo (optional)
Click Upload Logo (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, or SVG, up to 2 MB). It appears on published policies and employee sign-off pages, and saves as soon as it uploads.
Save
Click Save Organization. You'll see "Organization information saved successfully!"

Once your Privacy Officer and Organization Name are both saved, Step 1 is complete and your sidebar and dashboard unlock right away.
