Services
These are the core areas where One Guy Consulting delivers the most value. If your need spans more than one, that’s common — engagements are scoped around your goals, not forced into a single category.Strategy & Planning
Work through the big questions: market positioning, growth priorities, operational decisions, and build-vs-buy tradeoffs. You leave with a clear direction and a plan you can actually execute.
Technical Advisory
Get an experienced second opinion on architecture decisions, technology choices, vendor evaluations, or engineering team structure. Useful whether you’re starting from scratch or untangling an existing system.
Project Delivery
Hands-on execution for time-boxed initiatives — product launches, process redesigns, system migrations, or any project that needs an expert driving it rather than just advising from the sidelines.
Ongoing Support
A standing relationship for clients who want regular access to senior-level thinking without committing to a full project. Available as a monthly retainer with defined hours and response time.
What to Expect
Every engagement follows the same four-phase process, regardless of scope or type. This keeps things predictable for you and ensures nothing important gets skipped.1
Discovery
The process starts with a free 30-minute conversation. Come ready to describe the problem, the context, and what a successful outcome looks like. This call is about understanding your situation — not pitching services. By the end, you’ll know whether this is a good fit and roughly what working together would look like.
2
Proposal
Within two business days of the discovery call, you’ll receive a written proposal outlining the scope of work, timeline, deliverables, and pricing. The proposal is plain-language and specific — no vague statements of work or mystery pricing. If anything needs adjusting, one revision round is included before you sign.
3
Engagement
Once the agreement is signed and the first invoice is paid, work begins. You’ll have a direct line of communication throughout — no ticketing systems, no scheduling a call to talk about scheduling a call. Regular check-ins keep you informed, and you’re involved in key decisions as they come up.
4
Delivery & Handoff
At the close of an engagement, you receive all deliverables in agreed formats along with any documentation needed to carry the work forward on your own. A final call walks through everything and gives you a chance to ask questions. For retainer clients, this phase repeats on a monthly cadence rather than closing out.
Engagement Types
One Guy Consulting offers three ways to work together. The right choice depends on what you need, how quickly you need it, and how much ongoing access makes sense for your situation.- Project-Based
- Retainer
- Advisory
A project engagement is scoped to a specific deliverable with a defined start date, end date, and fixed price. This works well when you have a clear objective — a strategy document, a technical audit, a product launch — and want to know exactly what you’re getting and what it costs before work begins.Best for: One-time initiatives, well-defined problems, clients who prefer predictable pricing.Typical duration: 2–8 weeks, depending on scope.Pricing: Fixed fee agreed in the proposal. 50% due at signing, 50% due at delivery.
